Though the concept of Strings 'N' Steps was perceived in 2011, its first major program was organized in 2013. On the brink of completing several successful years Strings 'N' Steps has organized the International concert promoting Indo-Argentine cultural collaboration at The Foreign Service Institution Hall, Ministry of External Affairs in March 2016. March 2017 witnessed the 6th edition of the Strings 'N' Steps festival which held on 20th of the month, at the India Habitat Centre, and on March 21st, at ICCR Azad Bhawan Auditorium. Strings 'N' Steps Magazine "En Route to Rhythm" was launched featuring the works of Pt Debu Chaudhuri (Sitar Maestro), Vidushi Shovana Narayan (Kathak exponent), Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumder (Sarod Maestro), Pt. Debasish Bhattacharya (Indian Slide Guitar Maestro), Pt. THE JOURNEY OF
STRINGS 'N' STEPS
Two talented individual artists came together in the year 2011 and amalgamated a concept performance called ‘Strings N Steps’. This is one and only of its kind, showcasing strings of Hawaiian guitar by Neel Ranjan Mukherjee and steps of Kathak Dance by Sangeeta Majumder.
They started giving performances all over the world and thought of sharing their knowledge and experience with others. With the help of the other prominent artists, they established Strings ‘N’ Steps Academy of Performing Arts. They started teaching the efficient budding artists and individuals coming from different strata of the society. The resolution of this organization is to promote cultural and social awareness.
In 2013, Strings 'N' Steps International Festival of Indian Dance and Music’, was initiated where all the promising artists performed along with the prominent name in classical cultural performances from different part of the world.
Since 2014, Strings ‘N’ Steps has started ‘Youth Festival’ focusing on promising artists.
SNS started felicitating the stalwarts with the Global Awards since 2016. They also started Strings ‘N’ Steps E-Magazine ‘En Route to Rhythm’ in the same year.
This organization also conducts free classes and awards scholarship to the talented students to learn Indian Classical Music and Dance. They work with different NGOs also. This organization resolute to spread cultural and social awareness to every corner of our society.
The organization currently holds three centers at Delhi, Kolkata and Brampton, Canada (as a partner organization with Saaz-o-Awaaz).
The organization is on its way to establish a pan-Indian reach with support from well wishers and artists.
